Dr Mark GAN Joo Seng

Dr Mark GAN is Associate Director at the Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning (CDTL), where he works closely with faculty members to enhance teaching and learning in NUS. As an educational developer, Mark helps colleagues from different faculties and schools in developing their teaching portfolios, writing proposals for educational grants and awards and collaborating on teaching inquiry projects. He also supports undergraduate, postgraduate and full-time teaching assistants to develop and improve their teaching practices.

Mark’s main research interest is in feedback and its effect on teaching and learning. He holds a PhD in Education from the University of Auckland, supervised by Professor John Hattie.

During his free time, he likes reading, playing basketball and learning how to be better at watercolour painting.

Hi, I am Ryan! I major in Economics. Outside of school and studying hours, I often exercise, like running, and sometimes I do Muay Thai. Other than that, I enjoy binge-watching shows ranging from random Netflix series to anime.

In terms of food, I enjoy coffee and chocolates! Feel free to say hi to me around campus and I am looking forward to supporting all residents in their stay here 😊

I’m Nathaniel, a Computer Science major, who is interested in technology and web development. I enjoy running around NUS and aim to clock 500km a year. I believe running is a low-commitment activity that can help you take your mind off your hectic lifestyle while improving your physical health. To destress, I enjoy bingeing short drama and action series, and going out to eat KBBQ.

I’m Justin, a Computer Science major. You can typically find me in COM3 canteen chasing assignment deadlines, intermittently staring at my inbox full of internship rejections. Climbing takes up most of my free time, the remaining being watering a small cactus plant on my table. I always have coffee beans in my room, so drop by if you want to chat over a cup of coffee!
