Your Cheatsheet to Interning: Conversation with Fean Tan and Eunwoo Kim
On 16th October 2024, Helix House residents gathered for an insightful conversation with fellow residents Fean Tan and Eunwoo Kim, who shared their experiences in navigating internships. This Helix Signature event offered participants valuable insights into the unspoken expectations of internships and practical advice for making the most of these opportunities.
Fean Tan, a final-year student studying Business Analytics and Economics, began the session by discussing his diverse internship experiences. As a Business Intelligence intern at a digital bank and a Research intern at an alternative investment firm, he highlighted the importance of adaptability and continuous learning in a fast-paced work environment. Fean emphasized that being proactive in seeking feedback and asking questions can greatly enhance the internship experience.
Eunwoo Kim, also a final-year student studying Accounting, shared her extensive internship journey, which includes roles at a U.S. investment bank, a private equity firm, and a Big 4 accounting firm. She provided insights into the skills required to thrive in the competitive finance industry and stressed the importance of networking and building relationships during internships.
The event not only provided practical advice but also fostered a sense of community among participants. Many left feeling more equipped and motivated to navigate their own internships, making the session a valuable addition to the Helix House Signature Events.
