Over this summer vacation, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to South Africa for the Student Leader Global Summit 2024 held in Pretoria from 12 to 14 July 2024. This year’s Summit focused on critical global issues such as fostering sustainable mindsets, forging cross-cultural collaborations, equitable leadership, and global citizenship. Over the 3 days, we attended various expert sharing sessions, workshops and group discussions, from which I gained a clearer understanding of how I can better contribute to the student leadership scene, as well as a newfound appreciation for the privileged background I previously took for granted growing up in.
A highlight for me was interacting with my fellow delegates, and seeing how passionate they were about their respective student leadership roles and committees. It was truly heartwarming and motivating. I am reminded that it is a big honour to be a student leader among my peers and in the committees that have placed their trust in me. Hence, I should do my best to serve them with passion.

In conclusion, the Summit was a truly memorable and enriching experience that far exceeded my expectations. I feel deeply privileged to have been selected to participate in such a prestigious event alongside some of the most outstanding student leaders from universities around the world.
