Christmas 2023: Away from Home
On the 20th of December, our little family of residents who were spending the holiday season away from home, came together to create a Christmas celebration of our own. I personally shed a tear at the idea of spending the holidays cooped up in my little room. Spearheaded by Veronica, our Resident Assistant, our festive gathering was a warm and special occasion, reminding us that even though we were away from our families, we had each other to share the holiday cheer.
As the event unfolded, everyone enthusiastically dove into the delightful task of decorating gingerbread houses and Christmas trees. Our crafting table, decked out with icing, vibrant candies, and a variety of toppings, became a lively playground for everyone's creativity. Each group of residents added their unique touch to the gingerbread houses and Christmas trees, sitting shoulder to shoulder, transforming simple gingerbread pieces into delicious works of art. This event was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to let their imagination run wild.
The room was filled with sounds of laughter and friendly chatter. As everyone personalized their gingerbread creations, they were not just crafting festive treats, but also creating lasting memories and forming new bonds of friendship.
The joyous task of crafting and decorating gingerbread houses and Christmas trees brought about a heartwarming Christmas celebration. It not only created unforgettable memories for all participants but also fostered a strong sense of community among us. Tears no more!
