Q & M Dental Group Medal & Prize in Operative Dentistry

Donated in 2002 by Q & M Dental Surgery, the gold medal will be awarded annually from the proceeds of the capital sum of $30,000. The award is governed by the following conditions:

  1. Subject to rule 3 below, a gold medal and cash prize valued at S$1,000 will be awarded to the best student who scores a distinction in Operative Dentistry in the Final Professional Examination for the degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery.
    In the event that no candidate attains a distinction in the subject, a cash prize of S$500 may be awarded to the student who obtains the highest mark and an 'A' grade for the subject.
  2. The award will be made by the Board of Undergraduate Studies or its nominee.
  3. No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
  4. In the event of there being more than one candidate of equal merit, the relevant Board of Examiners will take into consideration the performance of the candidates during the year as well as their examination results.
  5. This gift shall be governed by the University Statutes and Regulations, specifically, Statute 7 on Gifts to the University and the corresponding Regulation.

 

Qiu An Mei Yu Academic Excellence Award

Established in 2018 by Prof Shi Yongfeng, Charles, Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting at NUS Business School, two cash prizes are awarded to graduates in the NUS Business School to recognize their excellent academic performance. The award from Prof Shi’s expendable gift is governed by the following conditions:

  1. Subject to rule 3 below, two prizes will be awarded as follows:
    1. One to the best graduating student in the Executive Master of Business Administration (Chinese) based on academic performance in selected courses or equivalent (as decided by the Selection Committee). Only graduating students who had completed the programme within 4 years will be eligible;
    2. One to the best graduating student in the Master in Public Administration and Management based on academic performance in selected courses (as decided by the Selection Committee).
  2. Each award will be a cash prize of $1,500 Singapore Dollars.
  3. No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
  4. The prizes will be awarded by the Board of Graduate Studies on the recommendation of a Selection Committee from the NUS Business School. The Committee comprises the Dean and/or the Vice Dean (Graduate Studies) of the School of Business, Executive MBA Programs Office, and Head of Departments and/or a nominee of the Dean of the School of Business.
  5. If no award is made in any year, the unutilised amount will be added to the fund.
  6. This gift shall be governed by the University Statutes and Regulations, specifically, Statute 7 and Regulation 12 on Gifts to the University.

 

Quah Siam Tee Memorial Prize

Donated in 1998 by the staff of the Faculty of Business Administration in memory of Mr. Quah Siam Tee, a cash prize is awarded from the proceeds of a capital sum of $19,140.

The prize is governed by the following conditions:

  1. Subject to rule 3 below, the cash prize will be awarded to the best student in “Programming for Business Analytics” and who has also excelled in the overall examination.
  2. The prize will be made by the Board of Undergraduate Studies or its nominee.
  3. No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
  4. The cash prize quantum will be subject to the distributable return from the endowed gift.
  5. This gift shall be governed by the University Statutes and Regulations, specifically, Statute 7 on Gifts to the University and the corresponding Regulation.
