Course Matters:
1) I have not passed GER1000/GEA1000, what should I do?
GEA1000 is pre-allocated to students according to the schedule set out by the respective Faculties. You are unable to select the course. Please refer Preallocation Guidelines for more information.
2) Am I able to choose which Semester to read the GEA1000?
The course is preallocated to you according to the Preallocation Guidelines set out by your faculty/department according to you Major/Programme schedule. You are not allowed to choose the semester to read the course. Exceptions must be cleared and approved by your faculty/ department.
3) I see that there is a lecture for the course, do I need to attend the lecture?
There is no physical lecture. It will be in the form of pre-recorded lectures to be viewed online, meaning students are able to watch at their own time instead of a fixed specific timing.
You only need to attend tutorials fortnightly - on Odd or Even weeks depending on the tutorial that you have selected.
4) Why is NUSMods not updated with the complete information yet?
As we are are handling a large enrolment of students, we need more time to secure venues for tutorials. The information will be up by Round 1 of Course Selection Round.
5) What are the assessment components for GEA1000?

Tutorial Matters
1) How do I choose the tutorial slot that I want?
You have to ballot for a tutorial class. (For SCALE and alumni students, a tutorial group will be pre-allocated based on your study schedule.)
2) What does "odd" and "even" weeks mean?
Please refer to the NUS Academic calendar.
For GEA1000 (5 tutorial sessions)
- Odd weeks - Week 3, 5, 7, 9, 11
- Even weeks - Week 4, 6, 8, 10, 12
- Week 11 and 12 are for project presentations.
3) What is the tutorial duration for each class and how are the timings like?
Each tutorial is 3 hours long.
Timings: 9 to 12pm, 12pm to 3pm and 3pm to 6pm.
Night Classes are available for B-Tech Students Only from 7pm to 10pm.
4) Are the tutorials conducted in class or online?
For Semester 2021/22 - Sem 2, it will be face-to-face classes. Venue information will be up by Round 1 of Course Selection Round.
There will be no online classes.
5) I was successfully allocated a tutorial class after the balloting round but wish to change it. How do I go about doing so?
You may do so during the Select Tutorial and the Add/Swap rounds to change your classes in CourseReg, subject to availability.
6) I requested for a swap during the Add/Swap round. How do I know if it is successful?
If CourseReg does not swap your tutorial by the end of the Add/Swap round, it means your request was unsuccessful.
