OpenCerts is a platform that leverages blockchain technology to achieve a high level of security and transparency. It offers an easy and reliable way to issue and validate academic e-certificates that are tamper-resistant. This minimizes overheads in verifying issued hard copy certificates from Schools and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) in Singapore, and at the same time, prevents fake certificates as each certificate can be verified on the blockchain.

vPDF is a PDF document with extended feature that leverages blockchain technology to achieve a high level of security.  Like OpenCerts, the vPDF document is tamper proof and self-verifiable.  However, vPDF provides greater convenience than OpenCerts as it is readable upon double clicking to open the file.

To validate the authenticity of the vPDF file, one can drag and drop the vPDF file into the viewer at Verify NUS e-Certificates webpage or the OpenCerts website (best viewed in Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox and Safari browsers).

Yes, after the OpenCerts or vPDF* is dropped in the viewer at Verify NUS e-Certificates webpage or the OpenCerts website, you will be able to see the official degree scroll and/or transcript, similar to the hard copy.

With these soft copy files, there is no need to request for certified true copies from your candidates anymore.

*Note: Only PDF issued after 1 August 2024 is verifiable via the above links.

If the file can be successfully opened in the viewer at Verify NUS e-Certificates webpage or the OpenCerts website (for .opencert file only), with no error message being displayed, the file is verified as authentic.

*Note: Only PDF issued after 1 August 2024 is verifiable via the above links.
