Information on MOE Tuition Grant

If you have successfully transferred to a new programme, you will be required to sign an acknowledgement confirming your understanding of the terms and conditions stated in the Tuition Fee Undertaking Form when you accept the Admission Offer.

If you are unsure of the number of semesters of tuition grant that you will still be eligible for under your new programme, you can contact the Office of Financial Aid for advice.

Successful transfer applicants will continue their studies in the new programme in the next semester on a Full Credit transfer or Clean Slate transfer basis from the previous programme.

A. The transfer basis options are defined as follows:

Starting with a Full Credit Transfer
  • All courses previously taken (i.e. including units, grades and GPA) will be transferred to the new programme.
  • The relevant College/Faculty/School shall then decide which courses may be used to satisfy the relevant graduation requirements.
  • Students who opted for full credit transfer into Law are allowed to transfer to up to 40 units counting towards their Law degree.
Starting on a Clean Slate
  • Students must re-take all their completed courses, including GE courses. There will be no waiver, credit transfer or exemption of courses.
  • The option to transfer clean slate is also subjected to the final approval of the receiving College/Faculty/School.
  • Any courses/units completed during the special term preceding the transfer will not be carried forward to the new programme.
  • Students will begin the new programme under the new admit term and prevailing fee cohort.

B. If you fall under the category below, you are required to transfer on clean slate or with full credit by default. Otherwise, you may indicate your preferred transfer basis option upon accepting the transfer offer.
