AY2026/2027 Admissions Exercise: Information for Applicants with Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level or Polytechnic Diploma Qualifications

The University provides the following notification of grade profiles and programme places to enable prospective applicants to make informed choices in their application for admission to NUS undergraduate programmes.

Important Notes

Applicants seeking admission in AY2026/2027 can expect competition to be keener for programmes with more stringent grade requirements and fewer places. In using the tables below, please note the following:

  • The grade profiles, GPAs and programme places may vary from year to year, depending on the number and performance of applicants and number of places available
  • Meeting the previous year's grade/GPA scores of a programme does not guarantee admission to that programme for AY2026/2027.
  • With effect from AY2020/2021, the grade profiles also take into account offers that were made under Aptitude Based Admissions (ABA).
  • The programmes marked with an asterisk (*) are those where additional assessments such as interviews, selection tests, and portfolios are required.
  • Certain programmes may have specific subject requirements. Details can be found on the NUS Admissions website.

For more information on the disclosure of grade profiles, please refer to our FAQ section below.

Table 1: Representative Grade Profiles of the 10th and 90th percentiles of Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level Applicants offered places for programmes at NUS in Academic Year 2025/20261

  • The grade profiles refer to grades scored by Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level applicants in their three H2 and one H1 subjects. For the purpose of this notification, Grade C is assumed for both General Paper (GP) and Project Work (PW) in determining the grade profiles. Certain programmes may require grades higher than Grade C for GP.
  • The table provides an indication of the grade profiles for the majority of applicants admitted in AY2025/2026. There could be other equivalent profiles for each programme. For example, a grade profile of ABC/C could be considered to be broadly equivalent to BBB/C, unless there are other pre-requisites.
  • For admission from AY2026/2027, refer to the FAQ regarding the revision to the University Admission Score (UAS) computation for more information.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The purpose of providing the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level Grades and Polytechnic Grade Point Average (GPA) Indicative Grade Profile is to assist applicants in assessing their competitiveness for the various undergraduate programmes in NUS. Applicants should therefore use the relevant profile to guide them in making informed choices when selecting their programme choices as part of their application.

As admission to the University is based on competition among applicants for that year, applicants’ choice of programmes and available programme places will determine the admission requirements. Hence, the representative grade profile for a more competitive or popular programme may be much higher compared to another programme.

The published Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level Grade Profile is based on the previous year's admission requirements and refers to the three H2 and one H1 subjects' grades. Grade C is assumed for both General Paper (GP) and Project Work (PW) in determining the grade profiles.

Applicants who sat for the 2025 Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level examination can use the grade profile to understand the competitiveness of the various programmes. As AY2026/2027 would be the first year of the revised university admission score (UAS) computation, a corresponding Grade Profile has not yet been established.

The Polytechnic GPA is based on the previous year's admission requirements. Each year, the Polytechnic GPA may differ depending on the number and performance of applicants and places available for the programme. Therefore, meeting the previous year's Polytechnic GPA is only indicative and does NOT guarantee admission to the programme in the current year.

Undergraduate programmes such as Architecture, Dentistry, Industrial Design, Landscape Architecture, Law, Medicine, Music, Nursing and Philosophy, Politics & Economics (PPE) require additional rigorous assessments, which may include interviews, auditions, selection tests and portfolios as part of the admission requirement. Apart from academic merits, selection to these competitive programmes will also be based on the applicant’s performance at the interviews and tests.

Applicants with IB and NUS High School qualifications are relatively fewer in number compared to those with the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Levels and Polytechnic Diplomas from Singapore. The sample size of applicants with these two respective qualifications is too small to arrive at a grade profile that accurately reflects the academic requirements for the various undergraduate programmes and are therefore not included.

Applicants with the IB Diploma or NUS High School Diploma will be assessed in the same way as those with Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Levels and Polytechnic Diploma from Singapore. Applicants will be considered for admission based their academic and non-academic achievements.

More details for IB students can be found here, and more details for NUS High School students can be found here.
