CDC vouchers do more than help people cope with rising prices

CDC vouchers do more than help people cope with rising prices

Speaker: Associate Professor in Practice Terence Ho 10 Jan 2023

The latest tranche of Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers was released earlier this month. Of the $300 in vouchers given out, half can be used in participating heartland shops and hawker stalls, and another half in participating supermarkets. Associate Professor in Practice Terence Ho from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at NUS remarks that while the total value of CDC vouchers disbursed by the Government to each citizen household since 2021 may seem modest, it should be viewed in the context of broader efforts to help all Singaporeans, particularly the less well-off, to cope with rising prices.
